India Shining

Cricket:

I don't know whether it's Dhoni's luck or his hard work, India continued winning streak in Srilanka too. They lost only 1 match in all 6 matches played there. The win in the 20-20 match was like insult to the injury for srilankans. Pathan brothers's stunning effort snatched the match from the hands of srilanka. On the same day morning Hussey brothers showed their class to get crucial win for Australia. Again tough luck for little master as he was dismissed for a wrong LBW decision thrice in a row. This is the first instance in the history of cricket and hope it won't happen again. England series changed the fortune for yuvi and he got another Man of the series award. India started off very well in the new year. Now they can target the top spot in tests and ODIs. For that they need to be consistent. NewZealand tour is very important for them, as most of the team is new to the conditions in Newzealand. I am surprised with the statement of Daniel Vettori about Sehwag and Dhoni. Indians never got success on Newzealand pitches after the series victory in 70s under the captaincy of Mansur Ali Khan Pataudi. Hope current Indian team will get back our pride in this tour. It's a big challenge to the youngsters and they need to show that they are capable of gettng good results on tough pitches too. Windies trying to save the test match on the fifth day. Chanderpaul and Sarwan doing their best to keep Windies 1-0 up in the series. The way they won the 2nd test proved that there is still some talent left in WestIndies cricket. Jerome Taylor's heroics made me watch the final day of 2nd test even after 2am in night. Forgot to mention Flintoff's pair ducks in 3rd test. The photograph shows the way he got out in the second innings. Coming back to India-Newzealnd series young bowler Ishanth can do wonders on Bouncy Kiwis pitches. This is a crucial series for him. He can establish himself as a match winner if he can continue the same way he bowled in the previous tours. Good luck India. Get to that top spot as soon as possible.

Tennis:

Previous few weeks saw some great performances from Indian tennis players Sania, Paes, Bhupathi. Sania showed some glimpses of her class and I am sure she can bring back her lost glory by the end of 2009.

FootBall:

Again ManU and Barcelona dominated the scoring charts in the last few weeks. ManU maintained clean sheets in the last 14 games. That's an incredible record. Arsenal looks in good shape after the much talked about signing of Andrie Arshavin and Eduardo Desilva's arrival into team after a long gap of 6 months due to knee injury. He scored 2 goals in come back match. So Arsenal can now fight hard for the champions League spot.
